Having an affiliate website is one thing; making money with your affiliate website is another.

I regularly hear people who do have an affiliate website but have difficulty making (more) money with it and earning (more) affiliate sales.

I thought it would be useful to write an article containing seven ways to get more affiliate sales from your affiliate marketing website.

So how can you increase sales from your affiliate marketing website? Read on below!

1: Get more traffic

It may sound obvious, and it is, but it is something that many affiliate marketing people do not understand.

Getting more visitors is an excellent ‘method’ to get more affiliate sales.

More visitors = more clicks on your affiliate link = more commissions.

How do you get more visitors?

  • Get more organic traffic by blogging
  • Improve the SEO of your website
  • Advertise on Facebook, Instagram, or another social network
  • Ask relevant blogs to post a guest blog
  • Buy advertorials

There are plenty of opportunities to get more visitors to your website.

2: Promote the right product

What can make a huge difference is a product you are promoting.

I often see affiliate sites not promoting the right product – although they think they are. They go much too broadly and leave committees there.

To give you an example:

When you have a site about losing weight, you can go into it very specifically. For example, you can have content about low-carbohydrate recipes. What I often see happening is that many affiliates promote a general ebook about weight loss.

A better product would, for example, be an ebook containing several low-carbohydrate recipes. This is much more specific and fits much better with the target group.

3: Make a clear Call to Action

It is important to make clear to the website visitor what to click on. Make your affiliate link clear; put down a clear CTA button.

If a visitor should not be urged to take action during or after reading an article, you cannot expect the visitor to do anything.

It would be best if you made it clear to the visitor to take action; make the Call to Action button as clear as possible. This will get you more clicks, and therefore more commissions.

4: Build a mailing list

Something that many affiliates ignore is the email list. And that is a shame because there is so much to be gained there.

In December 2018, I raised about 20K extra with affiliate marketing by promoting various promotions, purely by sending emails to my mailing lists.

I, therefore, advise you to start building a mailing list as soon as possible. Create an opt-in page, give away a free ebook, and put an autoresponder on it. It takes a bit of work to set it up, but you can get a lot of extra commissions and sales out of it when it’s up and running.

5: Create content about converting search terms

This is one of the easiest ways to score more commissions.

Write content about terms that visitors are already about to purchase a product. Writing reviews is a very good one because that way, you can reach the near buyers. The people who search for review terms are already familiar with the product and are therefore already on the verge of purchasing the product.

Here you can easily sit in between by writing a review. You take the last click with you and, therefore, also the commission.

6: Broaden your content

I think it is no longer enough to keep your content on your blog. It is increasingly important to broaden your content.

Think of making videos for YouTube (the second largest search engine!), An Instagram account, Facebook page, and more.

Create separate content for each medium. That way, you will be found more, and your reach is, therefore, greater, which in turn means that you get more clicks and, therefore, more commissions. This allows you to build a real brand, which increases conversion.

7: Keep working on your website

Too often, I see affiliates who stop working on their site after a few weeks or months.

They put up some articles there, and then they stop. They have enough reasons for this, such as no time, no sense, no motivation, and whatever.

If you think like that, it is indeed not going to work. The most important thing is to continue, to keep building your site. The power of consistency is and will remain gold.

Try to do something for your website every day. This way, you build your site a little bit every day, and your site gets a little better every day. If you do this for a year, wonderful things can happen.

Good luck!
