How do you do it?
By asking yourself:
- Who is this product going to be for? (Men, Women, Children)
- What age are you targeting? (Toddlers, teens, middle-aged, seniors)
- Location? (Country or city targeted)
- Ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion, etc.
- “Dating” is a broad niche. However, “dating for Hindu women over 40” is a micro niche.
- “makeup” is a broad niche, but “makeup for mature dark skin” is a micro niche.
- “yoga” is a wide niche, but “yoga classes in Paris” is a micro niche.
As you can see, you can take virtually any niche, no matter how big, and create a micro nice out of it, but add the targeted audience.
Now, with that in mind, let’s discuss the most popular affiliate marketing niches that will bloom, or continue to bloom, in 2022.
Best Affiliate Micro Niche Ideas for 2022
1. Technology Niche
2. The Health / Weight loss / Fitness Niche
3. Digital Marketing Niche
4. Love/Relationship Niche
5. Finances and Investments Niche
6. The Pet Care Niche
7. The Entertainment (Movies/Music) Niche
8. The Fashion/Beauty Niche
9. The Travel/Accommodation Niche
10. Mental Health Niche
11. Self-Development Niche
However, you already know that these are broad niches, and we need to find a micro niche.
Home Automation Micro Niche
Inside the technology niche, home automation isn’t particularly a “micro niche,” yet it targets a very specific range of products and needs. Since home automation is very popular in the US and just slowly taking off in Europe and the rest of the world, I predict it’s going to be a hot micro niche for many affiliate marketers.
With new products joining the home automation every month, I am sure those who direct their blogs at “smart homes” are going to thrive in 2022.
Drones Micro Niche
It may seem that drones and smartphones are no longer a big thing. At least, not as much as it was 4-5 years ago. However, they continue to be best sellers in many e-shops, including Amazon. Since drones tend to have a relatively short life span (they crash into the lake, land on a neighbor’s balcony, or just end up on the highest tree), they are often bought over and over again. If you are buying a drone for a child, you might as well grab two to avoid tears on the first pilot’s première. Trust me, I speak from experience.
So, since it’s a popular toy that doesn’t last forever, it remains a top-selling item in the “gifts” category, especially around holidays.
Moving on to the health and beauty industry, the trend of “natural” makeup is hot. It cannot even be a micro niche anymore because it’s growing so fast. Nonetheless, if you run a beauty blog, it’s a gold mine.
Instead of writing about “regular” makeup that is extremely hard to sell through your affiliate links, concentrate your efforts on a vegan, cruelty-free, and 100% natural makeup or skincare. A large segment of women choose to be environmentally conscious and will be eager to buy an unknown (“no-name”) brand product if they are convinced that they purchase a high-quality ingredients list.
Curly hair care micro niche
As a curly girl, I know first hand how lucrative this niche is. While men may still argue that one shampoo can suit every head in the world, women will continue to buy “pre-shampoo mask,” “shampoo for curly hair,” “conditioner,” “leave-in mask,” gel, mousse, hair spray, roots touch-up and many, many more colorful bottles…
Targeting hair products isn’t a “micro” niche in itself.
You have to target a specific hair type.
Since curls are hot and will continue to be fashionable in 2022, everyone buys an electrical curler, rollers, and hair care products for curls. Why not jump on the bandwagon?
Tiny houses micro niche
Another trend that started a couple of years ago but will continue to be extremely popular in 2022 and beyond. Especially now, in the post-coronavirus crisis, when a lot of people were left without jobs or a stable income, a “tiny house” in a micro niche (literally!) inside the real estate business.
It focuses on extremely small and often eco-friendly homes that do not waste space. Such a cozy cabin in the woods does not cost much and can be an effective solution for a tight-budget family who is willing to sacrifice the comfort of a spacious life for an eco-friendly minimalistic solution.
If you decide to make money from real estate affiliate sales of tiny houses, you are going to succeed in 2022.
Online Entertainment micro niche
Again, with the ongoing coronavirus, lockdown, and social distancing – the internet is slowly becoming the only place we can talk, learn, meet, and have fun.
Choose a micro niche that is aimed at online entertaining, and you won’t regret it: video games, online dating, internet TVs, whatever. Remember to focus your attention on a micro niche, so instead of targeting video games, choose (for example) racing PlayStation games for kids. Even internet TV is big business. You will be surprised, but alongside Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Rakuten, there are dozens of other networks focusing on specific niches (romantic dramas, supernatural, etc.).
Psychological health micro niche
Ask anyone, and they will tell you that we live in an era of depression. People are depressed like never before. Antidepressants are prescribed in volumes like never before.
People are overworked, unhappy, stressed, uncertain, devoured by consumerism. We live a better life than our ancestors ever did, yet we are unhappy like no other generation before us. So, what do we do?
We search online for a solution.
Oh, anything that would help!
From natural anxiety medications to self-development or self-improvement courses. From food supplements to self-help books, from lucky amulets to “miraculous” CBD oils.
If you decide to make money off people’s depression, I promise you: you will never be out of business. Choose a specific niche and go with it.
Do Micro Niche Affiliate Sites Still Work?
Many years ago, I quit my day job, thanks to the micro niche affiliate sites network that I have created. I developed many sites, ranked them high in Google, and earned money from Google Adsense ads.
Even though I regularly write about micro niches sites and build big “authority” websites, it’s up to you to decide to go for a small micro niche site that is easy to develop or choose a longer path.
I still receive many essential questions about what micro niches sites are and how they work.
This post is intended to answer your questions on the micro niche subject.
What Are The Micro Niche Sites?
A “micro” niche site is generally a smaller website or blog that targets only 1 primary keyword.
Because it doesn’t have a great deal of content, it’s called “micro.” Suppose you target one small audience that is interested in one particular product. In that case, you are naturally limited to the amount of content you can produce on that narrow subject.
What’s the difference between a general niche site and a micro niche site?
A niche (or micro niche) website could be a blog with a lot or just a little bit of content.
“Niche” only means that it targets a specific topic.
Of course, if your micro niche isn’t super narrow and you can write many posts covering different areas and aspects of that niche – more power to you. Taking a micro niche and building a 500-pages website around it is definitely the ideal case scenario.
But it’s not always possible.
Most of the time, you will be lucky if you manage to write 10-20 blog posts on the subject.
Besides, a micro niche website is often an exact match domain.
For example, if you target the keyword, “how to train parrots,” then your domain name would be these precise words: howtotrainparrots.com, .net, or .org (typically).
Suppose you are a business targeting customers locally. In that case, you should go for a local extension such as .us, co.uk, or whatever country you are based in.
Since your domain will have all the keywords you are after, you will automatically have a higher chance of ranking in Google and outranking higher authority domains.

My Experience with Micro Niche Websites
As I already have mentioned, I’ve personally built dozens of micro niche websites. I have done very well with them all. I began developing these micro sites many years ago when the competition was not as fierce as today.
The key benefit of these types of micro websites is that you can target a keyword quickly, and having an exact match domain often provided a benefit for ranking in Google. Moreover, by targeting such specific terms, I was often able to write articles about exactly what the visitors and readers were looking for.
On the other hand, my competitors only generally discussed the topic and were not as specific.
Therefore, targeted keyword relevancy was vital to my website’s success.
Authority Niche Sites – How Do They Rank?
Even though I’ve built so many small niche sites successfully, times have changed.
Google has updated its’ algorithm and the way they rank websites – if you follow the Panda update / Penguin update, you probably know that already. This has added a few obstacles to how quickly websites used to rank high in Google.
You can definitely still rank micro niche affiliate websites in Google, but it’s just not as easy as it was 10 years ago.
Nowadays, Google values massive quality content.
I personally believe that the strategy of developing a larger authority site is a better long term strategy.
I am doing quite well with my current micro niche affiliate sites. However, considering the time it takes to rank, why not create something more substantial that will bring in even more money?
Can You Make $1,000 a Month from a Micro Niche Affiliate Site?
But, can you make $1000 a month, specifically from a micro niche affiliate website?
The answer is yes and no.
You may stumble upon people who claim to make over $1000 a month from one micro niche affiliate site.
It’s difficult to determine these claims’ accuracy since they are made on different forums by anonymous people and rarely disclose the website that is making money, out of fear to create competition.
From $0 to $1000 a month, in 30 sites
Now you can see why micro niche sites are so tempting.
They are easy and cheap to set up and manage. You can buy a domain for less than $10 and decent shared hosting for $3 a month. WordPress and WP themes are free and take about 5 minutes to set up.
The only missing ingredient is the content.
You cannot rank in Google without content. The content might seem like something that would take a while. You need to be an expert on the topic of writing and have writing skills.
Turns out, for micro niche websites, you don’t.
Since you pick a keyword with very low competition, even mediocre or content can get you a good rank.
It could be hard to earn $100 from one micro niche website. However, what I do (and what most affiliates do) is create 10 websites, or even more. When each website, in its’ specific niche, will be earning $100 a month, which is very doable, you can easily multiply and replicate the process and earn the same revenue from more sources.
If you are looking to create a big and established website, I would advise you to invest your time, money, and energy into a larger, authority website. On the other hand, if you want to start making money online faster (and easier), making many small micro niche websites is the ideal shortcut.
If you decide to create a micro niche website (assuming you have picked the right keywords and targeted a lucrative niche), you are destined to succeed. Small websites that target a highly specific niche can have keyword-rich domain names and extremely targeted content that appeals to the readers right away. Since it’s easy to rank in Google, and the content is 100% related to what the reader is looking for – it is easy to make money selling products directly related to that topic. It doesn’t matter if you offer products through affiliate links or sell them directly through your own e-shop or dropshipping. The bottom line is that micro niche websites still work and will work in the future. As long as the marketing model doesn’t change drastically, this isn’t going to happen any time soon.
The number of affiliate marketing niches is almost uncountable, and the number of micro niches is virtually unlimited. All you have to do is find a “main” lucrative niche and target a very specific audience inside it.
